Number of Servings: 24


    1 cup cocoa powder
    2 cups boiling water

    2 3/4 cup flour
    2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt

    1 cup butter
    2 1/2 cup sugar
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Boil water. Mix 2 cups water with cocoa.

In separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.

In another separate bowl, mix the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat until light (about 5 min).

Begin to add flour in fourths and cocoa in thirds alternately, ending with the flour. DON'T overbeat.

Divide into three 9 inch cake pans, or a 9 x 13 inch pan, or fill whatever pans you like, making sure to fill just over half of the pan. MAKES ABOUT 2 13x9 INCH PANS

Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
