I love this cake!! I have noticed though recently the same recipe that makes 12 servings of cake will make 30 cupcakes. So quickest way to cut calories is to make cupcakes and have just one! I'm also looking at a few substitutions right now to lower the carb content. Nothing extreme. - 11/8/11

  • Did anyone make this cake in a rectangular pan instead of a round pan? - 4/17/15

  • A really easy recipe, for a really chocolatey cake. I made it this weekend as cupcakes. As SIERY25 pointed out, cupcakes are great for cutting the portion on this recipe.
And yes, the frosting is very sweet - and I LOVE it that way :)

  • Love this recipe! It's my favorite go-to chocolate cake recipe. The only thing I change is using rice milk instead of dairy milk, as my family deals with dairy allergies. For those who say the frosting is too sweet, decrease the powdered sugar a bit and increase the cocoa powder a bit. - 6/21/13
