    1.5 c ff milk
    1.5 c water
    2 Gala apples, peeled, cored, and cut into .5 in cubes (about 3 cups)
    1 c uncooked steel-cut oats
    2 tbsp brown sugar
    1.5 tbsp butter, softened
    .25 tsp ground cinnamon
    .25 tsp salt
    Cooking Spray
    .25 c pure maple syrup
    2 tbsp chopped almonds toasted


1. Bring milk & water to boil in a saucepan over medium high heat stirring frequently.

2. Place hot milk mixture, apple, and next 5 ingredientsin a 3-quart electric slow cooker coated with cooking spray stirl well. Cover and cook on low 7 hours or until oats are tender.

3. Ladle oatmeal into individual bowls, top with maple syrup and almonds.

Yeilds 4 servings of about 1.25cups of oatmeal, 1 tablespoon syrup, and 1.5 teaspoon of almonds.
