    1 package of yeast
    1/4 cup of warm water
    2 cups of milk, scalded
    1/3 cup of sugar
    1/4 cup of butter
    5 3/4- 6 1/4 cups of flour
    2 cups of raisins
    1 tablespoon of sugar
    1 tablespoon of cinnamon

Soften yeast in warm water. Combine hot milk, sugar, butter, and raisins. Cool to luke warm.

Stir in 2 cups of flour; beat well. Add the yeast and mix. Add enough or remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and satiny. Cover; let rise in warm place until double (about 1 1/4 hours). Punch down.

Cut dough into 2 portions. Flatten into long loaf shape. Mix 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle over the 2 portions of dough. Roll into a loaf. Place in 2 greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until double (45-60 minutes).

Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes or until done. If top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil the last 15 minutes.

You can lightly butter the tops of the loaves when they are done baking.
