    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup unbleached flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    3/4 tsp salt
    1.5 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp ground ginger
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup wheat germ
    1 cup buttermilk or yogurt
    3/4 cup molasses
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 Tbsp + 1 tsp oil
    2 eggs


Stir dry ingredients (first 9) together in mixing bowl.
Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.
Pour into greased 9x9 cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes or until done.

Makes 12 2x3 squares
