Number of Servings: 18


    Carrots, raw, 3 cup, chopped
    Celery, raw, 3 cup, diced
    Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) (chopped very coarsely, i like big chunks of onion)
    Onions, raw, 1.5 small (chopped very coarsely, i like big chunks of onion)
    Thyme (dried), .25 tbsp (just a pinch)
    Rosemary (dried), .25 tbsp (just a pinch, any more and it is too overpowering for me)
    black pepper to taste, 1 serving
    Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, 4 tsp
    Garlic Powder, 1 tsp (to taste I prefer fresh garlic but had to use what was on hand )
    Garlic, 1 clove
    Nature's Seasons Seasoning Blend, 1 serving (to taste)
    4 cups water, 3 serving (I first cover the chicken and bring to a boil and I just add more as needed)
    Swanson Chicken Broth 99% Fat Free - No MSG, 1 cup
    Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, 24 oz
    Chicken Thigh-Boneless & Skinless, 26.72 oz
    Corn - Bird's Eye Steamfresh Super Sweet Corn, 8 oz (steamed first)
    Bird Eye Steamfresh sugar snap peas 2 cup (the whole bag steamed first)
    1/2 tsp. Cumin Powder, 1 serving
    Baby Portabello Mushroom (raw) 3 C
    Birds Eye Steamfresh Sugar Snap Peas, 1.5 cup
    Green Giant Canned Peas 1 Can drained and rinsed


add chicken to pot cover with water bring to a boil, add carrots, onions, mushrooms and celery , add more water as needed.
add 1 can Swanson's 99% Fat Free Chicken Broth,
add seasonings
cover and let boil for about an hour, reduce heat let simmer.(I like to let it simmer for about 2 1/2 -3 hrs)
drain and rinse peas, steam veggies and add
continue to simmer for about another hour

makes about 18 1 C servings

  • why are some of the ingredients listed twice? do we really add 2c and 1.5c sugar snap peas? and chicken breast and chicken thigh? Onion is listed twice too? - 3/8/11

    yes they were different sizes/measurements and one was canned peas one was bag of steamers and I used both breast and thighs. I wanted to get the most accurate count of what I actually used. and I just noticed the bag went in twice I will fix it thanks for pointing out Sorry if it was confusing.
