    3 c whole wheat flour
    2 c organic cane sugar
    6 T cocoa powder
    2 t baking soda
    1 t salt
    2 c water
    3/4 c vegetable oil
    2 T vinegar
    2 t vanilla extract

    1 c. organic cane sugar
    6 T corn starch
    4 T cocoa
    1/2 t salt
    1 c water
    2 T oil
    1/2 t vanilla


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Thoroughly mix dry ingredients first (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt).

Mix in wet ingredients (water, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla). Continue mixing until you obtain an even batter (no lumps).

Pour into cake pan (9x13) and bake for approximately 40 mins.

Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cocoa in a medium sauce pan. Whisk in the water.

Heat over medium until it gets thick and starts to boil. Boil for 1-2 minutes. (Make sure you don't boil too long, or it will set like taffy.)

Remove from heat and stir in oil and vanilla. Cool and spread on cooled cake. Enjoy!
