Ingredients

    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    ½ tsp Salt
    2 tsp
    Water

    For the filling (puran):
    1 cup chana daal
    1 cup Jaggery, grated
    1 tsp Cardamom Powder
    ½ tsp Nutmeg Powder

Directions

For the poli :
1.Sieve both flours and mix well
2.Add salt and a tsp oil and knead to a really soft dough and keep it aside in another plate
3.Grease your hands using 1 tsp oil,spread evenly on the dough evenly and cover with a thin wet paper towel or cloth and keep aside for an hour.

For the filling (puran):
1.Cook chana daal with ample quantity of water in cooker for 2 whistles.
2.Strain water from daal .Retain this water for Katachi Aamti. This water is called Katache pani.
3.Heat a pan and cook daal ,grated jaggery, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and cook it for 10 minutes.
4.Use a hand blender to make the mixture is lump free.
5.Stir continously till the mixture becomes like a loose dough which could be made into balls.
6.Make 12 equal size balls of the mixture.

How to make pooran poli:
1.Take one of the dough ball and divide it into two circles.
2.Spread the daal mixture on one dough and cover it with the other circle and seal the edges.
3.Once again roll it out dough gently .
4.Place the puranpoli on a heated tava and cook both sides turn golden brown.Use 1 tsp of oil for each pooran poli.
5.Serve it with katachi aamti.
