Introduction

A healthier variation on my great grandmother's recipe, who was born in Sweden. Using Frozen Turkey Meatballs from Schwann it is extremely quick and easy to prepare. South Beach Diet friendly! Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 tsp. grape seed oil (or canola oil)
    1 clove garlic
    1 medium yellow onion
    1 14.5 oz. can beef broth
    1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp Wondra flour (or other gravy flour)
    1/2 tsp allspice
    18 oz Schwann Turkey and Pork Meatballs (about 18 Meatballs)

Directions

Chop onion and mince garlic.Heat oil in skillet then add onion and garlic. Saute until tender and slightly browned.
Mix beef broth, milk, flour and allspice in cool crockpot.
Add meatballs, onion and garlic to crockpot. Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours. Take off heat for a few minutes before serving to thicken if needed. Salt and pepper individual servings as desired.

This can also be made without sauteing the garlic and onion if prep time is an issue or in a large saute pan in cooking time is limited.

Serving Size: Makes 6 servings of 3 meatalls with gravy
