    3 cups all-purpose flour
    1 cup white sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 cup buttermilk
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup butter, melted


preheat oven to 325. lightly grease donut baking pan. Mix all dry ingredients. Mix buttermilk, eggs and melted butter in a separate medium bowl, and stir into the dry ingredients. Fill each donut cup approx. 3/4 full. Bake 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven, until donuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
Simple glaze recipe:
1 cup confectioner's sugar; 2 TBS HOT water; 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional). Blend confectioner's sugar, hot water and almond extract in a small bowl. Dip donuts in the glaze before serving. For a chocolate glaze simply stir in 1/2 cup melted chocolate chips into the glaze mixture.
