    Dates, .75 cup, pitted, chopped (remove)
    Oranges, 1 fruit (2-5/8" dia) (remove)
    Orange Juice, 1 cup (remove)
    Egg, fresh, 2 large (remove)
    *Margarine, soft, .5 cup (remove)
    *Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched, 1.25 cup (remove)
    *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup (remove)
    Granulated Sugar, .75 cup (remove)
    Baking Powder, 2 tsp (remove)
    Baking Soda, 1 tsp (remove)
    Salt, 1 tsp (remove)


Toss dates with 1/2c of all-purpose flour. In food processor fitted with metal blade, process date mixture until evenly chopped. Add orange;eggs and butter;process until blended.
Stir together whole wheat flour, remaining all-purpose flour, sugar,baking powder,baking soda and salt; add to date mixture and processjust until moistened but not overmixed.
Spoon into large greased or paper-lined muffin cups, filling 3/4 full. Bake in 400degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until tops are firm to the touch. Makes 12 muffins.
