Introduction

This is the Betty Crocker Recipe for Split Pea Soup but WITHOUT the ham. This is the Betty Crocker Recipe for Split Pea Soup but WITHOUT the ham.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 1/4C dry split peas (1 lb)
    8C water (add chicken or vegetable bouillon or use broth if
    desired)
    1/4t pepper
    1 large onion, diced
    2 celery stalks, diced (1C)
    3 medium carrots, diced (1.5C)

Directions

1. Heat all ingredients except carrots in a 4 qt pot. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for about an 1 - 1.5 hours.

2. Add carrots and simmer 30 minutes. By this time the carrots should be tender and the peas should be cooked to mush.

3. Stir well to mix the peas into the soup as you serve.

Serving Size: Makes 8 servings, 1C each
