Ingredients

    1 dozen (12) day old glazed or plain doughnuts cut into pieces
    6 egg yolks
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 cups milk (skim)
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 cup marshmallows (extra for topping if desired)

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Heat milk and 1/2 of sugar in a pot. Mix egg yolks and other half of sugar together in a bowl. When milk is at a scald, temper into the egg yolks and sugar mixture. Whisk together. Soak donuts in mixture for 20 minutes. Add marshmallows and chocolate chips and transfer to casserole dish.

Bake for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.

5 minutes before it's done sprinke extra marshmallows over top (if desired; not figured in nutrition info)

Serve warm.
