Ingredients
-
2 lbs lean beef, leftover steak picked clean of fat and bone
fresh water
2 lbs dried pinto beans (or 8 cups canned i guess??)
fresh water
2 quarts canned tomatoes
1 can (16oz) tomatoe paste
2 cups kernal corn
3 large onions
2 large sweet peppers (pretty colors)
spices
sweetener (optional)
Directions
clean up your left over steak, free of fat, bone any Grissel stuff. Thro it into 6qt pot with fresh water and simmer untill falls apart.
if there is fat it will float on top of water. lay a paper towel and soak out the fat one towel at a time.
add 2pounds of dry pinto beans and fresh water and simmer couple of hours to cook the beans some. IF YOU USE CANNED BEANS NO NEED FOR EXTRA COOK TIME.
add 2 quarts of canned tomatoes. 1 can of tomatoe paste. 3 large onions. 1or 2 lrge peppers. 2cups frozen sweet corn.
now the spices.....garlic cloves..... onion powder....... celery seed............. sea salt........... pepper........... chili powder........... cumin........... paprika.......... worchestershire sauce............ horseradish................. what you like to taste
lots of people prefer sweetener because market food is alllll so sweetened...... just a little of what you like, sugar white or brown, molasses or black strap adds a flavor also, maple, honey. I only add sweet for company and husband ;). I never use artificial sweeteners
