Introduction

Ingredients

    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 cup applesauce
    1 t soda
    2 cups flour
    1 t cinnamon
    1 t nutmeg
    1 cup quick rolled oats
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
    1/2 12 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Pre heat oven to 350 and grease cookie sheets.
Cream shortening with sugar and add egg. In a separate bowl mix applesause and baking soda. Add to shortening mixture when foamy. in another bowl mix flour spices, oats raisins and nuts. Combine dry and wet ingretients. drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet bake for 8-10 min.

  • I don't agree this won't affect your blood sugar, that is an inappropriate statement, this has sugar, fruit and chocoate chips, all of which elevate your blood sugar. - 12/15/07
