    32 oz green split peas
    1 tbs olive oil
    1 tbs butter
    4 c water
    2 14oz cans fat free chicken broth
    1 can corn drained
    2 med yellow onion diced
    2 cloves garlic sliced
    2 c diced ham
    1 tsp rosemary
    1 tsp oregano
    salt and pepper to taste


makes( 8) 2.5 cup servings
examine, sort, and rinse split peas well, set aside
in a large pot, add oil and butter , saute onion and garlic till translucent
add all ingredients and bring to boil
then turn heat to low and simmer 4 hours
let cool 10 min before serving
