Ingredients

    3 lb ground beef
    2 cans kidney beans, drained
    2 lg onions
    3 cups tomato purée
    1 cup diced tomatoes
    1 6oz can tomato paste
    4 cups beef broth
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tbsp chili powder
    1 tbsp ground cumin (or dhanajiru)
    1 tbsp honey

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Peel and chop the onions and mince the garlic, then sauté with a little oil in a dutch oven until golden brown.

Scoop onions out onto a plate and brown the ground beef, a pound at a time, adding a little more oil as necessary. Return the onions to the pot and give it a stir.

Add everything but the beans, mix thoroughly and bring to a simmer. Then add the beans and stir in.

Cover the dutch oven and place in preheated oven. Cook two hours.
