    8 lg. bell peppers (any color)
    20 oz Raw italian Hot sausage,(casing removed)
    20 oz ground sirloin
    1 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup barley
    1.25cup water
    salt and pepper to taste


Bring a large pot of water to a boil, cut peppers in half ,lengthwise remove seeds, immerse in boiling water and let cook for 5 to 6 min.remove peppers.in an ovenproof caserole dish lay the peepers facing up in dish.
Bring 1 1/4 cup water to a boil add the chopped onion and barley, cook for about 45 min. or until barley is done.
Meanwhile remove casing from raw sausage and chop finely, brown sausage in frying pan with the beef,untill done.
let cool ,then mix it with the barley and onion.
Now you can take the meat mixture and scoop it into the peppers 3 Tbsp should fill a pepper,Grate cheese and sprinkle over peppers.bake at 400 until cheese is melted and peppers are heated through .

Serving Size: makes 16 serv.at 1 stuffed pc each.
