Another variation from the Hare Krishnas:) Another variation from the Hare Krishnas:)
Number of Servings: 4


    2 c skim milk
    1/3 c white long grain rice
    1 bay leaf
    ground cinnamon
    ground cardamom
    sliced or slivered almonds
    2 tbs brown sugar


Put milk, rice and bay leaf in pot. cook on high til it boils, stirring frequently. Turn to low and simmer, stirring occasionally. you will have a film when you stir, this is good! Keep it on low til it thickens. Rice will start to look translucent. turn of flame, take out bay leaf, and add the rest of the ingredients. Refrigerate. It will thicken as it cools. serve slightly warm or chilled.
