Introduction

wonderful, no one ever guesses that this is sugar free and Never have any left overs wonderful, no one ever guesses that this is sugar free and Never have any left overs
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 16 oz package of fresh cranberries
1/2 cup of DOLE Pineapple, orange, banna
juice( can use plain orange juice)or no sugar added cranberry juice
    1/3 cup water
1 package (4 serving size) dry sugar free cranberry JELL-O can use other flavors
1/2 , 3/4 or 1 cup granular splenda according to taste I like it tart and use 1/2 cup
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon according to taste
2 slices of orange for garnish

Directions

wash cranberries and remove any stems or soft berries. Add berries, water and juice, bring to a boil then simmer on low for 10 minutes or until cranberries crack open. Mix once or twice while on simmer as berries can blacken if left on pan bottom the entire cooking time. Add the dry jello ,cinnamon and granular splenda, stir and simmer 1 more minute. Place in serving dish and garnish with cut orange slices You can process in blender or food processor for smoth. I like it very firm thus small amount of juice. If you want it softer or looser add 1/4 to 1/2 cup more water or juice.

You are such a blessing! What a great recipe! My hubby misses cranberry sauce sooo much. ( diabetic ) I am always looking for great healthy holiday recipes to replace the old sugar filled ones. This is so yummy, thanks so much! - 11/26/08

I tried this one last Thanksgiving, and it was a hit with the family. I couldn't find the sugar-free cranberry jello, so I just substituted SF mixed berry, and used orange juice and just 1/2 cup of the Splenda. I may do it again this year, and use cranberry juice. - 11/23/08

This was SO delicious! I didn't miss the regular-sugar cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving at all.
*I used Ocean Spray "Diet Cranberry Spray" (only 5 calories and few carbs) 1/2 cup Splenda -- next time, I'll use less cinnamon.

This was GREAT! No sugar cranberry juice and just 8 packets of Splenda made for a very tart but tasty jello-like cranberry sauce. If you like tart stuff, 8 packets of splenda was good. Otherwise, I'd add maybe 12 packets...or adjust to taste. - 11/23/07

Do you cool it after it cooks? And do you process it in a food processor before or after you cool it? - 11/28/07

    Reply from MURKOV (7/13/09)
easier to cool from hot to warm before processing. less chance of burning yourself.

Splenda is full of chemicals that are just as bad or worse for you than sugar. Try Stevia or xylitol. Sugar free jello has aspartame - A very unhealthy ingredient as well. - 11/22/14

I've been making my Thanksgiving cran sauce from this recipe for past 4,5 yrs. Don't recall where I got the recipe - Gourmet, Bon Apetite, or where? Big family, some vegans, some diabetics, etc. Besides, the homemade is definitely better than the store prepared sauce. - 11/16/10

This is great and I used only 1/2cup of splenda and it was plenty sweet. - 11/21/07

I used the recipe for proportions. Had to sub 1/3 c. sugar for Splenda, only pineapple juice and peach gelatin. It was warm and runny when we ate. It was good that way. Chilled it firmed up and was also good. Even hubby liked the less sweet version. Sure beats the can. - 11/27/20

This is very very good. I didn't have a food processor, but I wanted to break the berries up some, so I just used a potatoe masher while they were hot and it broke them up nicely. This recipe is amazing. - 11/25/09
