Introduction

Ingredients

    8 oz. macaroni
    1/4 c. margarine
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. skim milk
    1 c. water
    2 cups low-fat cheddar or colby cheese
    8 Tbsp. wheat germ

Directions

Cook the macaroni for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In mediuam saucepan over high heat, melt margarine, blend in four, salt and pepper. Cook until mixture is smooth and bubbly; turn heat down to medium and gradually add milk and water.

Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture boils and simmer for 1 minute until thickened. Mix in cheese and continue to stir until melted. Add in wheat germ at the very end.

Combine cheese mixture and pasta. Pour into 2-quart casserole. Bake 25 minutes.
