    4 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tsp salt (I use no salt substitute)
    1 tsp sugar
    3 tbsp baking powder
    2 tbsp soft butter (unsalted)
    2 cups skim milk (no fat). I use lactaid.


Sift together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Throw out what remains in sifter. Add the soft butter and with a pastry cutter, cut in until no big chunks remain. Add the milk. With your fingers, in a circular motion, mix all ingredients together. Do not over or under mix. Mixture will be sticky. Put on greased pan. Knead down gently until evenly flattened. (Bannock will rise). Do not over knead and do not over flatten. Bake @ 350 for 30-35 min.
