Ingredients

    2 pounds ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped
    cup chopped green pepper
    24 ounces tomato sauce
    15 ounces whole tomatoes, cut up*
    18 ounces tomato paste
    2-3 cups water
    1 tablespoon salt
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 teaspoon basil
    2 teaspoons oregano
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    4 ounces mushrooms (optional)

Directions

Cook and stir ground beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients, except spaghetti. Simmer, covered, 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
