Introduction

Ingredients

    2T Smart balance buttery spread
    2T King Arthur white whole wheat flour
    2 c. reduced sodium chicken broth
    1t. garlic powder or to taste
    1/4 t. each paprika, parsley and pepper or to taste
    dash onion powder (optional)

Directions

Melt Smart balance in a saucepan over medium heat. Whish in the flour and cook for 3 - 5 minutes (be careful not to burn). Slowly whisk in the broth and simmer over medium heat until gravy thickens, stirring constantly (about 20 -25 minutes).
During the last 3 minutes of cooking time, add pepper, paprika, parsley, onion powder and garlic powder to taste. Cool slightly before serving.

Makes a complete fat loss plate with a mashed potato and green beans.

    O.K.
    This was not that ok for me - although I will admit it was a nice color of brown. It was too thin for my tastes. I realize how lowfat that it is , and that is one of my goals, but it is still not really for me. I would probably rather skip the gravy than do this again. - 12/1/16
