    1.5 cups of all purpose flour
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tbsp baking powder
    3/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp dried onion flakes
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 Blue Bonnet Light Margarine
    1 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
    1/2 cup of skim milk


Preheat oven to 425. In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic and salt. With pasty blender or mixer, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add 3/4 cup of cheese and stir with fork. Add milk and stir until dry mixture is moistened. Make 10 rolled scones out of mixture. Place the circles on baking sheet (sprayed with cooking spray) and sprinkly remaining cheese on top. Bake about 12 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer to rack and cool for 2-3 minutes.

  • I would love to try this recipe. It sounds good, but in order to substitute olive oil to margarine, I would like to know if the recipe calls for a 1/4 cup or 1/4 stick of Margarine... Thanks! :-) - 3/7/08
