I changed this a little bit.
I added hungarian paprika, salt/pepper and increased the quantity of vegetables. I cooked a lot longer (an extra hour?) than what was called for in the recipe, therefore reducing the liquid considerably.
I served everything with a side of seasoned brown rice.

I put it in the crock pot for 6 hours instead; veggies on bottom, meat on top and reduced water. I also cut the meat into 3 oz. serving size pieces instead of bite size pieces and lightly floured it before browning. Didn't have potato and served it with rice. Awesome flavor! - 7/15/10

Definitely soup-like. I reduced the amount of water and after 1-1/2 hours still full of liquid. I thickened with a little xantham gum and called it beef stew. - 11/2/07

Definitely will make this, sounds yummy. But after reading other post I will use less water, add dehydrated minced onion in place of onion powder, dash of cayenne pepper for some zing and use crock pot instead of oven. - 6/30/09
