Ingredients
-
39 oz Ragu Light - Tomato & Basil
12 oz Lasagne Noodles, uncooked
16 oz Ground beef, lean
16 oz Sorrento Part-Skim Ricotta Cheese
3 cloves Garlic, chopped
3 tbsp italian herbs
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup water
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions
Brown ground beef with chopped garlic and herbs, salt, and pepper. Drain fat. In a bowl, whip ricotta cheese until easily spreadable. Put one cup of sauce on bottom of a 13x9 baking dish. Add one cup of water to the jar of sauce, re-cap, and shake to mix well. Layer noodles on top of sauce in pan, break noodles as necessary to cover layer completely. Spoon meat mixture over noodle. Pour sauce over meat until just covered. Add another layer of noodles. Spoon cheese over this layer and spread evenly. Add another layer of noodles, cover with sauce. Top with parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Bake for 45 minutes at 375. Serve hot.
Serving suggestion: Plated lasagne with an Itallian or spinach side salad, garlic parmesan bread sticks, and a nice dry red wine.
Make a no-meat veggie version by cooking fresh spinach with mushrooms and onion and use this instead of the meat. For a low-carb version, replace the lasagne noodles with zucchini ribbons (thin strips lengthwise).
Serving Size: Makes 12 servings
