    3 cups skim milk
    3 cups water
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup molasses
    1 tablespoon salt
    3 packages dry yeast
    10 cups whole wheat flour
    6 cups white flour

Scald milk. Place shortening, sugar, shortening and sugar in a large bowl. Add scalded milk and stir until shortening and sugar are dissolved. Dissolve yeast in 1/2cup lukewarm water. Add remaining 2 1/2 cups water to milk mixture and cool till lukewarm. Add yeast mixture. Add whole wheat flour and beat until smooth. Gradually add the white flour until soft dough is formed. Use dough hooks for your beater if you have them. Turn onto floured surface and knead until smooth, using only enough flour to prevent from sticking. Place in greased bowl and let rise until double in bulk. Knead down and let rise again.Divide into 5 parts and form into loaves. Place in greased loaf pans (9 by 5") and let rise until double in bulk.

Bake at 350F for 20-30 minutes.

Serving Size:60 pieces, about 12 per loaf (makes 5 loaves)
