    1 teaspoon vanilla paste/extract
    200g flour

    1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 tablespoon golden syrup (or maple syrup)
    1/2 cup icing sugar
    1/2 tablespoon water.
    a pinch of salt

Set oven to 180 C/350 F and line a 20cm springform caketin with baking paper.

In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until reasonably smooth, then whisk for a minute or so.

Whisk in the oil, sugar and vanilla, and then sift in the flour, baking soda and baking powder. Carefully fold together with a spatula, then pour into prepared tin.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, and allow to cool.

Sift icing sugar. Mix all ingredients together well. If you need more water to improve the consistency, add more. Pour over the cake.
