This is my grandma's recipe for stuffed green peppers. Delicious! This is my grandma's recipe for stuffed green peppers. Delicious!
Number of Servings: 3


    1 lb hamburger
    1/4-1/2 c rice
    1 small onion diced
    salt and pepper to taste
    sprinkle of celery salt
    garlic powder to taste
    2 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
    1 link of pork sausage (optional)
    3 green peppers


Mix hamburger, sausage, rice, onion, salt, pepper, celery salt, and garlic powder. Add 1/4 can of tomato sauce (just enough to mix in).
Take out stems of peppers and scrape out seeds and white membrane. Fill peppers with hamburger mixture and put pepper lid on top. If there is any mixture left, make a meatball and put it on the top of the pepper.
Pour tomato sauce over the tops of the peppers. Put in enough water to rinse out the can. Fill with water to halfway up the peppers. Cut up carrot and put in the pot. Bring to a boil. Cover and turn down to almost low and simmer for 1 hour with lid on.
