    ground beef 1 lb
    oregano 2 Tbl
    onion powder 1 Tbl
    thyme 2.5 tsp
    plain yogurt 1 cup
    cucumber, finely diced 0.75 cup
    onion, finely chopped 1 each
    olive oil 2 tsp
    garlic powder 2.5 tsp
    salt & pepper to taste


Preheat the BBQ or grill.
In a large bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients thoroughly. Make 12 patties and grill.
In a small bowl, make the sauce by combining the yogurt, cucumber, onion & olive oil.
Add garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste.
Assemble gyro sandwiches by placing 1 meat patty in each pita half and topping with yogurt sauce.

Serving Size: Makes 12 sandwiches - servings for 2 sandwichs each
