Ingredients

14 oz 93% Lean Ground Beef,
    2 Cups Chickpeas (garbanzo beans),
2 Red Ripe Tomatoes, Italian tomato chopped
1/2 cup Tomato juice, with salt added,
    2 cloves Garlic chopped finely
    1 Onions, raw, chopped
    1 Tbsp Salt
    1 Tsp Pepper, black
    1 Tsp chili flakes (optional)
    2 Tsp Olive Oil
    1/2 Cup Water

Directions

Use a high sided frying pan and add the oil, onions and garlic. Cook the onions and garlic until translucent only. Add the beef and fry until the beef changes colour to brown, add the seasonings (chili flakes make a nice addition as well!) Add the chopped tomatoes and tomato juice, water and finally add the drained chickpeas. Stir and cover the pot, cook gently for 20-30 mins - keep checking to make sure there is enough liquid (if not add water) so it does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Serve with rice or orzo (optional) or eat with a nice piece of whole wheat bread!
