Ingredients

    Use a 1 lb 20 oz bag of dried split peas.
    8 cups water
    3Tbs Land O Lakes Whipped salted butter

    season salt or sea salt to taste
    galic powder to taste

    sometimes I add chopped baby carrots

Directions

Rinse your dried peas in cold water. I rinse them about 3 times and drain. Then I add about 8 cups of hot water (from the faucet) and put over high heat until they start to boil. Turn heat down & with lid slightly tilted simmer gently until tender & mushy. Then I add the butter plus a little garlic powder, and a 'shake or two' of seasoning salt. Makes 10 cups (and after cools, you can add a little more water before next heating because it thickens. You can actually stretch it out!)
