Introduction
We have had bruscetta for years. It's a staple appetizer, but most people don't crave it and moan when they bite into it. We do. It's because we use fresh ingredients from our container garden. Believe me, fresh makes a difference. Delish. Don't add salt. Trust me, doesn't need it. We have had bruscetta for years. Ingredients
-
Bread-Publix Crusty White Baguette (1/4 loaf) or small diameter chewy french baguette
5-6 Cherry Tomatoes, multi color if possible
Garlic, 2 clove or 1 tsp jar garlic
Fresh Basil, 5-6 leaves
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 tbsp
Directions
Topping:
Chop tomatoes into small tidbets.
Chop or shred fresh basil
Mince garlic (you can use jar minced garlic if you are in a hurry)
Place ingredients in bowl and stir. drizzle olive over top and stir again.
Crostini:
Slice the baguette into 1/4" rounds. The key is to slice very thin, so the crostini will be easy to eat.
If you have a Mister Misto, which sprays olive oil with just a pump of pressure, it rocks! If not, you can either brush olive oil or use canned pressurized olive oil
Spray one side of each round of bread.
Toast lightly in a toaster oven until the bread is crispy but not ultra hard.
Top with a spoonful of salsa. EAT!
Serving Size: Makes 2 servings, about 4 pieces each
Number of Servings: 2
