My low sodium version of the recipe from McCann's. My low sodium version of the recipe from McCann's.
Number of Servings: 4


    1 cup Steel cut oats
    4 cups water
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup slivered almonds


Into four cups of briskly boiling water sprinkle one cup of oatmeal, stirring well. When the porridge is smooth and beginning to thicken, reduce heat and add the almonds and brown sugar. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
