    1 c peanut butter
    1/2 c light corn syrup
    1/2 c powdered sugar
    2 tbsp butter
    2 c oats

    1 c (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate
    2 tbsp peanut butter
    1/4 cup peanuts (optional) i dont use them..


for medium saucepan heat 1 cup peanut butter, corn syrup, powdered sugar and butter over med-low heat until butter is melted, stirring frequently. remove from heat..stir in oats...mix well
spread onto bottom of un greased 8 or 9 inch square pan...set aside..
for topping, place chocolate pieces in medium sized microwave bowl. microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes stirring every 30 seconds..
stir in 2 tablespoons peanut butter until well blended. spread evenly over oats layer. sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired. chill 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.
cut into bars with sharp knife. if bars are difficult to cut let stand about 10 minutes. store tightly covered at room temperature. makes 24 bars
