    Split Peas, (454 grams) 1 pound
    *Bacon, Welshire, 2 serving (4 slices)
    Carrots, raw, (118 grams ) 3 med carrots, peeled and diced
    Celery, raw, (100 grams ) diced
    Onions, raw, (162 grams) 1/2 of a large, or so, diced
    Red Potato, (149 grams) 1 medium , peeled and diced


rinse peas, and cover with water by an inch or two. Bring to a boil and then simmer on med/high heat until beginning to get mushy. Add water as necessary while cooking. In a separate pan, cook bacon. Set bacon aside, pour out fat (but don't wipe the pan) and add diced veggies to pan. cook until browned lightly. splash a little water in the pan to loosen the brown bits at the bottom of pan. Add veggies and bacon into pan with peas. Add desired seasoning. (salt, pepper, a teensy it of ground clove). Continue to cook on med/ high until peas are desired level of mushy. Soup should thicken once cooled.
