Introduction

This is an old recipe from Weight Watcher's magazine from back in November 1985. They used exchanges rather than points back then, but these are delicious and I still love to make them. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1/2 Cup flour
    3 Tbs unsweetened Cocoa Powder
    1 Tbs instant coffee
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    heaping 1/3 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
    3 Tbs each: white sugar and brown sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 tsp vanilla
    1 tsp almond extract
    1/2 Cup dried currants or raisins
    1/2 Cup shredded coconut divided

Directions

Mix all ingredients together, (saving some of the coconut for the topping). Pour batter into greased 8" square pan. Sprinkle top with remaining coconut. Bake in 350 oven for 25-30 minutes.

Makes 8x servings, 3 points each. (old points)
