    3 cups rolled oats
    3/4 cup slivered almonds (or nut of your choice)
    1/2 cup wheat germ
    3 tbsp flax seed
    2 tbsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup maple syrup
    (or honey or molasses or some combination thereof)
    1 cup dried fruit
    1 tbsp sesame oil (or other light oil)


Preheat oven to 325 and place rack in center of oven. Spray baking pan with oil.

Dry Mixture:
In a large bowl combine oats, nuts, seeds, wheat germ and ground cinnamon.

Wet Mixture:
In small bowl combine maple syrup & oil.

Pour wet mixture over dry mixture and toss to evenly coat. Evenly spread on baking sheet and bake 30-45 minutes or until golden brown stirring occasionally so mixture browns evenly. The browner the granola gets without burning the crunchier it will be! Place on wire rack to cool. Granola may still be sticky but it will become crisp as it dries and cools. Break up large chunks while still warm Store in airtight container.
