Sweetened Cream Cheese Filling between Layers of Crescent Roll Crust

    2 pkg Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
    2 pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese - 8 oz each; softened
    1 tsp Lemon Juice
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1 Egg Yolk (Save the Egg White)
    1 C Sugar
    1/2 C Powdered Sugar
    1 tsp Lemon Juice


PreHeat Oven to 350
Lightly grease 9"x13" baking pan.

Whip together Filling Ingredients: softened Cream Cheese, Lemon Juice, Vanilla, Egg Yolk, Sugar. Set aside.

Arrange 1 sheet of Crescent Roll Dough on bottom of pan - pinch together perforations to seal.
Lay 1 sheet of Crescent Roll Dough on a sheet of wax paper or foil or plastic wrap. Pinch together perforations to seal. Press dough to spread into a rectangle large enough to cover the sheet in your baking pan.

Spread Filling over the bottom crescent roll sheet.
Cover filling with 2nd crescent roll sheet and peel off the wax paper.
Press around edges of top sheet to seal to bottom sheet.

Whisk together the reserved Egg White with a few drops of Water. Lightly brush mixture over top crust.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
Remove to a rack to cool.

Whisk together Powdered Sugar and Lemon Juice. If needed, add a few drops of water to get to desired consistency. Drizzle glase over top of warm cake and allow to cook completely.

Store in refrigerator.

Notes: Use Pillsbury Dough Sheets in place of Crescent Rolls.
To lighten the recipe, replace full calorie ingredients with Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls, Light Cream Cheese (Neufchatel), Splenda &/or Baking Splenda (for one or both sugars) according to package directions.
