    1 Whole large Cabbage Head
    1 1/2 Cups White Rice -- uncooked
    1/2 Pound Bacon , diced
    2 whole cloves of Garlic , diced
    2 Whole Ribs of Celery, diced
    1 Whole medium Onion -- diced
    1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
    1 Liter V-8« Vegetable Juice [low sodium]


1. Core center of cabbage head, place in large pot of hot water to soften the cabbage leaves.
2. Leave sitting in pot of hot water while you prepare the other ingredients.
3. Cook rice.
4. Chop and saute bacon
5. Dice celery and onions
6. Mince garlic cloves
7. Prepare cabbage leafs
[For thicker stem ribs of the cabbage leaf, carefully pare it down, so the leaf stem is similar to thickness of the center rib of the cabbage leaf.]
8. Combine,cooked rice, bacon, celery, garlic and seasonings.
9. Spoon 1 1/2 tablespoon of rice mixture into a leaf and roll tightly.
10. Place rolls in prepared casserole dish, stacking in layers.
11. Pour V-8 juice over the rolls, using enough just to cover.
12. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours.
