My Favorite Recipe For Sugar Cookies! My Favorite Recipe For Sugar Cookies!
Number of Servings: 48


    3/4 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
    1 tsp baking powder


Thoroughly mix together the butter, sugar, eggs & flavoring of choice (I use vanilla.). Sift together flour and baking powder. Stir into the butter mixture. Chill for at least 1 hour. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter dipped in floor. Re-roll the scraps and continue cutting until all of the dough is used. Place on a ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar, if desired. Bake in a 400 degree F oven until delicately golden, about 6-8 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen 3" cookies.
