    1/3 cup flour
    1/3 cup butter or oil
    2 cups chicken broth
    14 oz turkey kielbasa sausage
    4 cups cooked chicken
    2 cups sliced okra (fresh or frozen)
    1 cup onion, chopped
    1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
    1/2 cup celery, chopped
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp ground red pepper
    hot sauce to taste


In a large saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour to make a roux. Cook over medium high heat for 4 minutes stirring constantly. REduce heat to medium stirring constantly for about 15 minutes more or until roux is a dark reddish brown. Let roux cook. Add chicken broth to a 3 1/2-6 quart slow cooker. Stir in roux. Add remaining ingredients. Cook on love for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours. Skim off any fat. Serve with hot cooked rice.
