Introduction

When you (or your family) have a craving for mac & cheese, this is a great way incorporate vegetables while still enjoying the cheesiest!

In comparison with the classic preparation, I've reduced the fat with less butter and a lower fat milk. I also increased the amount of milk to ensure there is enough sauce for the added broccoli. We usually eat this along with a lean meat and another vegetable.

Ingredients

    1 box Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, original flavor (7.5 oz)
    1.5 cups fresh or frozen broccoli
    1/4 cup Milk 1% (can replace with your preferred milk)
    2 tbsp salted butter (can replace with unsalted)
    Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions

- Heat amount of water as directed on box in small pot.
- Chop broccoli into small pieces.
- Once water is boiling, add noodles from box and broccoli.
- Cook 7-8 min or until macaroni & broccoli are tender, stirring occasionally.
- Drain noodles & broccoli, but do not rinse.
- Add milk, butter, and cheese sauce to pot and mix until ingredients incorporated.
- Return noodles & broccoli to pot and mix well with cheese sauce.
- Add salt & pepper to taste.


Serving Size: Makes 3 servings, approximately 1.25 cups each
