    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup cornmeal
    1 TBLS baking powder (heaping)
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup milk ( or needed to make fluffy)
    2 quarts vegetable broth
    1 cup onion chopped
    3 carrots, chopped
    2 celery stalks, chopped
    1 15 oz can beans, (your choice, pinto, black or garbanzo)


Combine dry ingredients (flour, cornmeal, salt , baking powder) in bowl. Stir in enough milk to make dough fluffy. Add some parsley for color.

Saute vegetables in oil/butter until tender. Add beans (rinsed); pour in broth and bring to boil. Drop TBLS sized dumpling into broth. Simmer covered 10 min. Remove lid and simmer another 10 min.
