    1 pound broccoli rabe
    1 medium purple onion, peeled and finely chopped
    2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
    Coarse salt and pepper to taste


Cook broccoli rabe in 2 quarts of boiling water with a pinch of salt until it just turns color. Put in an ice water bath, drain and pat dry.

Saute garlic and onion in oil in a medium skillet until soft, about 4 minutes. Add broccoli and cook over medium heat until tender-crisp. Season to taste.
