This is a very dense bread but tastes wonderful and is very filling. This is a very dense bread but tastes wonderful and is very filling.
Number of Servings: 12


    Water, tap, 1.25 cup (8 fl oz)
    Brown Sugar, 30 grams
    Molasses, 2 tbsp
    Butter, salted, 2 tbsp
    *Flour, white, 3.5 cup
    *Natural Wheat Bran, 1 cup
    *Fleischmann's Yeast (instant dry yeast), 1.5 tsp


Place all ingredients in a bread maker.
Do not let the yeast touch the liquid.
Set for basic bread and start.

  • This turned out really good. I bought wheat bran yesterday and was looking for a good bread machine recipe to try. I subbed 1.5 C of whole wheat flour and used 2 C of bread flour. This makes 12 very generous servings, I was able to use one thick slice cut into for a hearty sandwich. Thanks! - 8/17/14
