    30 Brussel Sprouts- washed and halved
    2 garlic cloves chopped
    1 cup onion chopped
    1 cup chicken broth
    3 slices bacon cut into 1/2 inch pieces
    2 T balsamic vinegar
    salt and pepper


Heat skillet to medium heat. Add chopped bacon and cook until fat renders out. Add garlic and onion. Saute until onion is tender and translucent. Add brussel sprouts and saute 1-2 minutes. Add 1 cup chicken broth. Put on lid. Let steam 10 minutes. Once brussels are tender, remove lid and season with salt, pepper and balsamic.

  • Done this for years its the best way to get people to eat them. We just love them anyway. Its A Great side at dinner gatherings too. It reheats well if there any leftovers. I allow 6 Sprouts per person or 8 each when cooking for DH and I. Pat in Maine. - 12/9/11
