    15 oz. can black beans, drained and rinced
    1-2 cloves of garlic
    1/3 large onion, cut into wedges
    1/2 green bell pepper, cut into wedges
    1/2 c. old fashioned oats
    1 egg
    1 T. cumin
    1 T. chili powder


Pulse garlic, onion and green peppers in food processor or blender. Pour into large bowl and add oats. Mix well to combine and let oats soak up the moisture.
Place beans in bowl; mash with fork until somewhat pasty. Add beans to vegetable/oat mixture and mix well.
In a small bowl, beat egg, cumin and chili powder together. Add to the vegetable/oats/beans mixture and mix well.
Refrigerate for about half an hour. Divide evenly into 6 patties. (If you're not cooking the burgers right away, wrap individual patties in plastic wrap and freeze.)

You can either cook these on the grill, bake in oven or saute in a frying pan with a little bit of EVOO (my favorite method - EVOO not included in nutrition info).
