This is a variation on Dr. Fuhrman's chocolate spinach smoothie. This is a variation on Dr. Fuhrman's chocolate spinach smoothie.
Number of Servings: 1


    Kale, 70 grams or 2.5 ounces.
    Blueberries, frozen (unsweetened), 1 cup, unthawed
    Flaxmeal, ground 1/2 Tablespoon
    Banana, 1 medium
    Unsweetened Vanilla Flavored Almond Milk, 1/2 cup
    Dates, 2 pitted sliced in half
    Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, 1 Tablespoon


Substitute the same amount of baby spinach if you desired and remove the kale ribs if too hard. My blender can handle it but others may not be powerful enough.


Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth and creamy.
I add everything except the blue berries and then add them a few at a time. If the mixture is too thick you can add some water. If the berries are frozen hard this is more like a frozen smoothie. Sometimes I eat it with a spoon!
